My grandfather was always willing to talk. He told some incredible stories about his life, and his eyes sparkled with joy when he remembered those moments. He enjoyed walks in the park or playing dominoes. Although my uncles and aunt tried to look after him, their obligations and routines did not allow them to be with him as much as they wanted. In addition, my father lived in another city far away from my grandfather, and there was this helplessness sort of feeling because he couldn’t be there to support my grandfather with his things or simply listen to those stories.

On the other hand, I remember how my aunt, who was struggling with her health back in the day, needed some very important therapies to live, and my mother was always preoccupied and worried because, due to everyone’s obligations, it was not easy to find someone who could be there with my aunt, who could support her, and without a companion, they couldn’t schedule the therapies. When I asked my mom what the companion had to do, she just replied, “Nothing, just sit next to the aunt.”

We all have a close or personal experience where we need help with day-to-day issues, need support, or need to provide it. We need someone to give us a hand or someone to share an activity we enjoy This is how this project was born. The desire and the need to be able to positively impact people’s lives and to be able to help solve daily issues that have been difficult for us for a long time drive us.
